Now, as you mentioned (and I actually think this is kind of brilliant). Along with this, Chloe doesn’t really talk how regular people speak, therefore possibly pulling players out of their “immersion” Now, this isn’t inherently bad, but it is different and many people don’t like different. Chloe very much stands out from the crowd when it comes to story driven games. Her aggressive nature and “questionable” use of slang is quite unlike a lot of other similar games we see on the market. If you look at it from a gaming perspective, Chloes’s writing may not be the most accessible. It really depends if you want to look at LIS as a fun game or a piece of art. I know nothing about music, unfortunately. Just thought I would mention some stuff about the writer, and what he said about the process. We know exactly who she is, which is an amazing feat to accomplish.Īlso, this doesn’t mean I am right, nor am I trying to sway your opinion. Between her wonderful voice actor and because of the way her dialogue is written, we attach to Chloe so much because of her distinctive nature of character. It flows in a distinctly Chloe way-there is not one other character I could mistake her for. Not everyone likes that style of writing-but I do. He has a kind of old school view of dialogue, where it isn’t exactly real, but it’s more a verisimilitude of speaking. I try to keep up with the script writer’s interviews when he talks about writing LiS. Chloe can be a lot to take in, especially given that her dialogue toes a rubbery line of realistic and poetic.
